Thank you Mr. Elnes

I remember my anticipation when Mr. Elnes, the 5th Grade band director, came to our classroom to recruit students for his program.  I waited expectantly as he demonstrated each instrument from the band.  Since my best friend played clarinet, I had my mind set on clarinet and waited for him to pick it up and play it.  But then suddenly, caught off guard, I was completely captured by the magical sound of the saxophone.  That was it!  I knew I would play saxophone for the rest of my life.  Thank you Mr. Elnes.  – Alan
